Pilot Recycling Project 2013
THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED MAKE THE 2012 PILOT PROJECT A SUCCESS.
We look forward to another project this coming year and will be deciding soon the parade day on which it will be held. The following information from last MardiGras likely will apply:
Be a part of Mardi Gras history!
VerdiGras needs YOUR help to make the [second] ever Mardi Gras recycling project a success! No experience needed, just your enthusiasm and willingness to help educate parade attendees about recycling.
So what will be recycled or reused?
Plastic, aluminum cans, and Mardi Gras beads and throws from six blocks of the . . . parade route.
There are two shifts available, so pick whichever one works for you! Some but not all roles will involve heavy lifting, so don't let that stop you.
During parade, 2 pm – 4 pm: Stand at a booth along the route and help sort materials into the proper bins. Switch out bins as necessary. Pull full bin to Phoenix's truck for emptying.
Clean-up, 3 pm – 5 pm: Pulling bins to Phoenix to empty, helping load bead bins onto ARC's trailer.
That's it! Done in plenty of time to watch the next two parades.
